Tirupati: In its efforts to make Tirupati
citizens aware of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Sri Venkateswara
Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has organised a training programme at Sri
Vidyanikethan
Educational Institutions (SVEI) for five days.
In the programme, more than 5,000
students and staff of the Sri Vidyanikethan
Colleges of Pharmacy, Engineering, Nursing and Management studies received
training.
A meeting was held on the premises
of the institutions in which the Special Officer Prof T Goapal
Rao, HoD
of Pharmacology department, SVIMS Prof Umamaheswara
Rao, Principal of SVIMS College of Physiotherapy Dr K Madhavi,
Dr Alok
Samantaray,
Principals of various colleges of SVEI and others took part.
It may be recalled that SVIMS has
been working on providing CPR training at various institutes since November
2017. So far, CPR trainers have trained more than 10,000 people in Tirupati
under the guidance of the Director cum Vice-Chancellor of SVIMS Dr TS Ravikumar.
